Learn to take control of your stress response

Wim Hof Method awaydays are about recalibrating how your team responsds to pressure. We use the three pillars of the Wim Hof Method to engage their psychophysiology directly. Through specialised breathing, cold exposure and mindset, we create a process of controlled voluntary stress. These are short challenges from which your team will recover stronger. We replace automatic panic with manual control. By adjusting physical reaction, you fundamentally change the experience of the stress itself.

The three pillars

The Wim Hof Method breathing is a powerful intervention. Leo will teach the technique thoroughly so it can be practiced safely and at a pace that suits the individual. Crucially, we also explore functional calming methods so as to understand exactly how and when to use breathing to lower stress.

Cold exposure

We use my custom-built ice baths to practice finding calm when your body wants to panic. This is not about endurance. It is about learning to compose yourself in a high-pressure situation. You will learn to recognise the spike of adrenaline and deliberately guide yourself back to calm acceptance.

Commitment and mindset

Commitment and mindset

This is the pillar that integrates the practice. It connects the breathing and the cold to your daily life. It helps you appreciate your own capability and recognise the strength you already possess to handle difficulty.

The venue

Heyford House is tucked away in the Cherwell Valley, North Oxfordshire. A peaceful spot surrounded by nature. It has been my family's home since 1965. Today, my sister and I run this former Rectory as a B&B and as a dedicated space for restoration and learning. While it retains the soul and warmth of a family home, it offers the exacting standards you'd expect from a modern venue – sauna and ice baths to name just two.

Serious food with a light touch

Sonya Kidney brings a lifetime of culinary expertise to the table. A pioneer of the UK gastro-pub revolution, she wrote for The Guardian, led some of the Cotswolds' most celebrated kitchens and now leads the kitchen here at the house.

For team awaydays she makes lighter dishes using fresh, often local ingredients to nourish without overburdening digestion, never compromising on flavour.

Every corporate team is different, which is why we do not prescribe a rigid format. We will work closely with you to structure the awayday around your specific objectives, schedule, and team dynamics. Whether you need to carve out an hour for your own internal strategy meetings or prefer to dedicate the entire day to resilience and team building, we will design the experience to suit you.

Below is a sample of a comprehensive, full-day itinerary to give you a sense of how the day flows.

08:30 am – Arrival and breakfast Begin the day at Heyford House with a warm welcome. Your team will be greeted with a freshly prepared, energising breakfastl allowing everyone to settle in, decompress, and leave the morning commute behind

.

10:00 am – Kick-off and alignment

We officially open the day's programme. After a brief overview of the agenda, we head out into the grounds for a gentle session in nature (moving inside only if the British weather proves a little too wild). This allows the group to step out of 'office mode', connect in a different context, and set clear intentions for the day ahead.

11:00 am – Wim Hof Method fundamentals

The core of the experience. We explore the history and science of the method, intellectually breaking down its three pillars to understand how we can manually override our stress responses. This theoretical grounding leads directly into a powerful, guided breathing session, culminating in your team's first fully guided ice bath.

1:30 pm – Lunch

Time to refuel and reflect. Sonya’s kitchen will provide a restorative, highly nourishing lunch. We typically start with a hearty, homemade soup—always a welcome comfort for anyone who hasn't quite fully warmed up from the ice!

2:15 pm – Deepening the practice

With the fundamentals established, we dedicate the afternoon to a deeper dive into the third pillar of the Wim Hof Method: Commitment an mindset. This session focuses on how your team can actively translate this physiological composure into high-pressure work environments. We will undertake a second, more advanced breathwork session to solidify the technique, followed by an opportunity for a second round of cold exposure. This time, the focus shifts entirely from overcoming the initial shock to sustaining focus, endurance, and profound mental clarity.

3:30 pm – Taking the practice home

The true value of this awayday lies in what your team takes back to the office. In this final session, we focus entirely on integration, discussing actionable ways to embed these physiological tools into daily routines to navigate workplace pressure, improve focus, and sustain resilience. Your team will depart not just with clear heads, but with a practical, lifelong framework for maintaining composure under stress, alongside an invitation to my WhatsApp community to support their ongoing practice.

Heyford House is a safe and inclusive space. We will accommodate any specific needs regarding your gender, privacy, or comfort within the group. If you have specific concerns, please message Leo in confidence so we can ensure you feel entirely at ease during your stay.

We want this experience to be accessible to as many people as possible. However, we must be realistic about the physical environment. Heyford House is an older property with unavoidable stairs. If these barriers present a challenge for you, please get in touch before booking. We are happy to discuss the specifics and explore how the format can be adapted to suit your needs.

Sonya manages her own dietary needs, so she understands the importance of getting the details right. Whether you are vegan, gluten-free, or have specific allergies, she provides nourishing food that fits your requirements without any fuss. You can specify these on the health form we send after your booking is confirmed.

We take your safety seriously. Once you have booked, we will send you a confidential health form to complete online. Leo is also available to discuss any specific concerns with you in confidence.

Please note: If you have a specific medical condition or are unsure, please consult your doctor before booking.

Keep it simple. You do not need any specialist kit. You will need comfortable clothing for the breathwork, swimwear for the ice baths. Please wear whatever swimwear you feel most comfortable in.

Regarding the atmosphere at the house, much to Sonya’s annoyance, Leo usually lives in shorts, hoodies, and sweatshirts with a distinct lack of shoes and socks. Please feel free to be just as relaxed.

We will send a full packing list once your booking is confirmed.

Prices start from £350 per person. The final cost will depend entirely on how you choose to structure your day, your group size, your catering choices, and whether your team requires overnight accommodation. We work closely with you to build an itinerary that suits your team's exact needs and budget.
