Turn composure into a learned skill. Bring a partner and discover how to use your own psychophysiology to navigate high-pressure situations with deliberate calm.
These two days are about recalibrating your response to pressure. We use the three pillars of the Wim Hof Method to engage your psychophysiology directly. Through specialised breathing, cold exposure and mindset, we create a process of controlled voluntary stress. These are short challenges from which you recover stronger. We replace automatic panic with manual control. By adjusting your physical reaction, you fundamentally change your experience of the stress itself.
The Wim Hof Method breathing is a powerful intervention. We will teach you the technique thoroughly so you can practice safely and at a pace that suits you. Crucially, we also explore functional calming methods so you understand exactly how and when to use your breath to lower stress.
We use my custom-built ice baths to practice finding calm when your body wants to panic. This is not about endurance. It is about learning to compose yourself in a high-pressure situation. You will learn to recognise the spike of adrenaline and deliberately guide yourself back to calm acceptance.
This is the pillar that integrates the practice. It connects the breathing and the cold to your daily life. It helps you appreciate your own capability and recognise the strength you already possess to handle difficulty.

Heyford House, 13 Church Lane, Lower Heyford, Oxfordshire OX25 5NZ

Heyford House is a family-run venue accommodating just four pairs. We offer three twin/double rooms and one fixed double. You will need a partner you are happy to share with. This constraint is a strength. It guarantees the personal coaching you need.

By learning together you create a shared language and a collective momentum. You become the architects of each other's success. You provide the ongoing support to ensure these skills pay dividends in your daily life.
Most weekends away offer temporary relief. You borrow calm for a few days, only to return it on Monday morning.
This workshop is an investment in your psychophysiology. It is designed to transfer a capability, not just provide an experience. We use the time to decode the mechanics of your stress response so that when you leave, you possess the practical tools to regulate it yourself. The calm doesn't stay here; it comes home with you.
Meditation is excellent for managing stress, but it is often passive. The Wim Hof Method is active. A 2025 study published in Nature demonstrates the difference: while mindfulness lowers baseline stress, this protocol builds psychophysiological resilience. You aren't just learning to recover from pressure; you are training your nervous system to tolerate higher loads.

To complement our core practice, I’ll introduce you to Contrast Therapy. Drawing on my foundational Søberg Institute training, I’ll guide you through the precise mechanics of alternating heat and cold, systematically expanding and contracting blood vessels to clear metabolic waste, trigger heat shock proteins, and accelerate cellular recovery.

I use the Cherwell Valley as a practical extension of our training space. Rather than a rigid itinerary, we adapt to the conditions and the group. Whether that means a steady hike or a wild river swim, the objective is straightforward: genuine environmental exposure and a deliberate change of scenery.

Building a sustainable habit is the hardest part of the protocol. I will invite you to join my private WhatsApp group, a low-noise resource for peer support. I remain personally available within the group to answer technical questions, ensuring you have expert guidance as you integrate the method into your daily life.
Heyford House is tucked away in the Cherwell Valley, North Oxfordshire. A peaceful spot surrounded by nature. It has been my family's home since 1965. Today, my sister and I run this former Rectory as a B&B and as a dedicated space for restoration and learning. While it retains the soul and warmth of a family home, it offers the exacting standards you'd expect from a modern venue – sauna and ice baths to name just two.

My wife, Sonya, brings a lifetime of culinary expertise to the table. A pioneer of the UK gastro-pub revolution, she wrote for The Guardian, led some of the Cotswolds' most celebrated kitchens and now leads the kitchen here at the house.
For us, she will craft lighter dishes using fresh, often local ingredients to nourish without overburdening digestion, never compromising on flavour.

This is the complete two-day session, running from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon. It covers the psychophysiological principles and practical application of the Wim Hof Method required to build your own sustainable practice.
See the full breakdown section below for the daily itinerary and session structure.
Arrive on Friday evening to avoid the early Saturday morning drive. This is a chance to settle in and meet me before the technical work begins. You are welcome to join me for an optional sauna and a light dinner, but we save the formal sessions for Saturday morning when the full group arrives.
Instead of rushing home at 4pm on Sunday, you can stay for an extra night. This is a social evening where you can join me for a sauna and dinner. On Monday morning, I will supervise an ice bath for anyone who wants one before breakfast.
Combine all of the above for a Friday-to-Monday stay. This turns the weekend into a complete break, leaving Monday morning free to explore the local landscape at your own pace before you depart.
Flexible Payment: You can spread the cost with three interest-free instalments.
If you have a specific question not covered here, please get in touch.
While I maintain a structured approach to the weekend, I remain responsive to the group’s progress and environmental conditions. This ensures that the technical application of the method is always safe and effective.

The stay
Food and drink
Heyford House is a safe and inclusive space. I will accommodate any specific needs regarding your gender, privacy, or comfort within the group. If you have specific concerns, please message me in confidence so we can ensure you feel entirely at ease during your stay.
I want this experience to be accessible to as many people as possible. However, I must be realistic about the physical environment. Heyford House is an older property with unavoidable stairs, and the weekend includes short walks into nature. If these barriers present a challenge for you, please get in touch before booking. I am happy to discuss the specifics and explore how the format can be adapted to suit your needs.
Sonya manages her own dietary needs, so she understands the importance of getting the details right. Whether you are vegan, gluten-free, or have specific allergies, she provides nourishing food that fits your requirements without any fuss. You can specify these on the health form we send after your booking is confirmed.
Every room features a private en-suite bathroom. Three of these rooms can be configured as either twin or double beds. The fourth is a double room, though we can add a Z-bed if separate sleeping is required.
I take your safety seriously. Once you have booked, I will send you a confidential health form to complete online. I am also available to discuss any specific concerns with you in confidence. Please note: If you have a specific medical condition or are unsure, please consult your doctor before booking.
You can pay in full or pay in three.
*Spread the cost over three interest-free instalments using PayPal. Please note that the 'Pay in 3' option is a credit agreement between you and PayPal directly. I do not manage the credit approval process or the repayment schedule.
Keep it simple. You do not need any specialist kit. You will need comfortable clothing for the breathwork, swimwear for the ice baths and sauna, and something casual for the evenings. Please wear whatever swimwear you feel most comfortable in.
Regarding the atmosphere at the house, much to Sonya’s annoyance, I usually live in shorts, hoodies, and sweatshirts with a distinct lack of shoes and socks. Please feel free to be just as relaxed.
I will send a full packing list once your spot is confirmed.
Sonya and I will handcraft you an Easter egg to take home. They are made from the finest single-origin Cacao Barry chocolate.
